WhatsOnStage - Comedy Review (Online)

David Morgan: Pretty(Edinburgh Fringe)

David Morgan's star continues to rise with his new stand-up show at the Underbelly, Bristo Square

David Morgan has never thought he's pretty enough. Keeping in mind that he was included in Heat magazine's '15 Hot New Men List 2012', that might seem a bit odd, but the disarming honesty and humour with which he admits to the numerous ways in which he photoshopped the winning picture immediately sets the tone for the rest of the set.

The real success of this show is that Morgan can talk about all his achievements - the list, a gorgeous boyfriend of seven years and his rising comedy career - without ever coming across as a smug so-and-so or with his doubts about his looks being discounted. This is thanks to his friendly persona, honesty about his flaws and a gentle, genuinely interested line in audience interaction throughout the show.
